+1.7K in February

Yo, sup guys.

February was my worst month since august 2008, but I'm stell pretty confident, because I know why it went wrong.

1. I simply ran pretty bad in the 110 turbo HU sngs.
2. Bad run lead to more tilting
3. Fighting too much vs regulars (ego problem)
4. I lost 1.2K playing 100 dollar buy in double or nothing (don)

I think jumping right into the 100 dons was the most stupid thing i did in february. I mean, the biggest don-game at pokerstars is indeed 100 (which is big enough when you can 10-table). They just bent me over. Thankfully I moved down to the 50s before I lost even more.
I've also been tilting a bit in the dons, hopefully i wont do that no in the future. I keep saying that though.

In march I will probably play mostly dons. I'm getting a bit tired of only playing HU sngs, besides I think I can make a lot by 6-tabling the 50s dons now. We'll see, I'll probably play some HU sngs as well. I think it's good to play different games so you can switch over to an another +ev game when youre running bad and getting tired of your primary game. If you are a solid HU sng player you can pretty easily beat full table games as well, because HU is the most complex and skill demanding game. HU is the pure essens of poker that you get a taste of the few times youre involded in a hand at a full table.

My goal now is to make 10K total in march and april combined, and even more importantly, sharkscope total profit +50K within 31th Mai.

We'll see about that, shall we.

Best, thomas.

Hey, GL with your double or nothing experiment, I hope it works out well. I've played a small sample size of DON's myself, but have gotten killed. It seems to be a pretty beatable game though, and alot of players make bad mistakes early in them. It's just a matter of getting ur shove/call ranges correct when the blinds get big. See ya.

Uhm...I want to be supportive, and I think I will be supportive by saying I like to see thomas play the same way he has been playing at the same level where he made $$$.

At the peak of your strategic plans, you game selected and played one table at a time to figure your opponent. You had so many things going for you in terms of having an edge over your opponent. That's why you sat on me every time I sat first.

At the worse of your strategy, you sat first and on two tables. I believe part of your burn out is sitting in first and not table selecting; thereby, sharks or any +roi will give you your run for your money on both tables at a time. I think facing two solid players on two tables and grinding a win will burn anyone out.

It is so much nicer to face easier opponents, which I have been doing. Sharkscope "searching" and you will see something clicked at -25k$ lol. Perhaps your advice and trash talking other opponents about sitting in versus you (very funny BTW) finally clicked in my brain.

So it's my to remind you to not leave your bread n butter strategy.

Anyhow, GL whatever you decide..but I rather not have you count on luck but on your strategy.

no offense thomas, but i almost guarantee your late game shove/fold ranges are really bad in double or nothings.

why don't you stick to husng? screw being well-rounded. just make money.

also: beating a double or nothing where 5 out of 10 make the money is hardly going to make you a well-rounded poker player. if you want to be well-rounded learn limit or PLO. this is kind of silly imo.

Wow.

I'm going to give my opinion on all of this. I think it's fair to say that bartchalker is the only on that does not deserve to get slaughtered.

Bartchalker: Thanks. playing dons is indeed an experiment. The 50 don seems to be kinda soft, and I excpect to grind a lot this month. I gonna play a ton and count up the money in the end of this month.

Searching: Game selection in the 100s HU worked ok when I did that some months ago, however if you wanna make more than +3K/month, you gotta sit first, because game-selection is too time consuming. Moreover I'm crushing the 110 by sitting first when I dont tilt and dont induce re-matching vs the very few strong regulars. I dont mind two tabling vs two slightly winning players in the 110. I got an edge vs most of them as long as im not tilting. I proved that in december when I made 6K by two-tabling the 110s vs anyone.
I dont think I've been sitting vs you with purpose more than 1 or maybe 2 times. You on the other hand have sit with purpose several times. Which I dont really mind bay the way, because you probably respect me more than you should.
But I think you got an important point here. 2-tabling (or even 6-tabling when i'm on uber-tilt) a ton of games when losing is burining out my game. So my goal is to never do that self-destructive stuff anymore.

Hokiegreg: I am making money on the 50-dons now. Moreover I find the game fun, just as fun as HU sngs. And in total i find it more fun and less outburning to play some HU sngs and some dons.
Pretty cool that you've probably been observing my don-games since your cricize my fold/shove range in the end-game. I thought you were a busy man. But your're probably correct. I am a bit too tight in the endgame, hoping that the short stacks will be blinded out, or stupid medium stacks calling off vs big stacks etc. I mean, lets say I got 2000 chips left 7-handed and I pick up AJ, AQ or ever AK UTG. Sometimes I just like to fold here if two other players have about 1000-1500 chips. Because I excpect stupid things to happen at the table. If I shove AQ UTG I might get called by a stupid medium stacked or big stacked guy that will bust me if he win the race. And sometimes the two shortest stacks are plying just as tight as I do and will basically be blinded out before me. So I mean, It's table dependent. If the short stacks are shoving a lot and not getting called, then the medium stacks gotta take more chances as well. If the table is skilled, which it tend to be at the 100-dons, you gotta shove AJ+ UTG there, because the medium and big stacks wont make stupid calls that often, and the shortest stacks that are behind you in chips are gonna shove a lot in good spots.

How about that.

i am not viewing your games. i am just assuming that since i'm 99.9% sure you don't know ICM, you probably aren't shoving anywhere near a correct range. i just thought it was very silly to say that you are more well-rounded bc you are beating DoNs...I mean there really isn't a more robotic/auto-pilot game on the inet right now is there???

i know i'm seeming like i'm just berating you lol. i just think this is a waste of time and isn't going to improve you as a poker player at all.

i wish you all the success in the world, tdiddy. 100% serious. don't get so offended when people disagree with you!
